Just not viable anymore. Would rather spend good money now on a S2000 or something else like that. Enjoy driving more. Where do you think the best place to post the listing is?

I mean, the S2000 has a better drivetrain in my opinion

AP1 is solid from what I've heard if you keep up with maintence.

I think it was more that stupid plagued the people that bought the AP1s. I raced an AP1 and an AP2 and the only difference I could find was ratios were changed to match the engines power bands. Stupid people kept shifting to a much lower gear than they wanted and blowing up the transmissions and engines. Not really the cars fault.
The big weaknesses were the differential and the clutch.

S2000s are a solid choice. Are you buying it to autocross or just DD?

gotcha. Then again, these were complaints off the honda forums. And those guys like to drive enthusiastically.
The diff. Yes! youre right, thats what it was the s2k guy i talk to mentioned. Maybe it wasnt the trans.

The diffs are very quick responding spring systems. They aren't good for much torque, so a few good clutch dumps on a sticky track and they will blow. A common upgrade for high power or drag racing is to buy a swap kit and move to a 300ZX diff from the Z32s. Those are good for excess of 500HP, but are VLSD and thus less desirable for some racing.
I like the quick response of the OEM diff, so I just didn't clutch drop it very often.

Then an S2000 is a good choice. Durable, fun, and good mileage. The only thing that annoyed me was that I was a little tall and would have to duck sometimes to look under the top of the windshield to see close street lights... but I forgave it in trade for how much fun it was.

I'm not that tall (5'9) so I shouldn't have to worry about that I don't think

Probably not. I'm just over 6ft and it was just barely an issue for me, so if you're even an inch lower than I was, you would be fine. I usually just adjusted the seat a bit when driving, then back into position for racing.
